Sometimes it can be all too easy to get caught in a rut and lose your sense of motivation – especially during this time of year, when the days are often dark and dreary. There’s a book that’s been making its way around the Kaye-Smith headquarters lately, however, that’s proving to be a good source of inspiration. In fact, it will be mandatory reading for all of our managers next month.
The concept discussed in the book (entitled 212: The Extra Degree) is simple: Although the margin between first and second place can be as small as a fraction of a second (a few feet, etc.), that bit of extra effort can make a monumental difference. Don’t stop short. Continue to strive, and you can achieve great things.
